Host Pool Program

Benefits of Hosting:
Becoming an ISR Host Pool offers several benefits to your family while also helping bring essential water-safety skills to children in your community:

• Discounted or Complimentary Lessons: Hosts may qualify for discounted or complimentary ISR lessons based on the length and scheduling of the hosted session.

• Lessons at Home: Enjoy the convenience of having your child’s ISR lessons right in your own backyard with no commute to and from lessons.

• Pool Heating & Maintenance Support: Depending on the hosting arrangement, additional costs associated with pool heating and maintenance during the lesson session may be shared or fully covered by ISR-Roseville. Specific arrangements will be discussed and agreed upon with the homeowner prior to the start of the session.

• Make a Difference in Your Community: By opening your pool to ISR lessons, you help make Self-Rescue® swim instruction accessible to more local families and provide an additional layer of protection against childhood drowning.

• Help Us Save Lives: Most importantly, your willingness to host helps us reach and teach more children with potentially life-saving skills. Potentially save little LIVES!!!

Certified ISR Instructor Requirement:
All Certified ISR Instructors teaching at a Host Pool are required to:

• Maintain Liability Insurance: Carry current professional liability insurance for the duration of the session. The Host Pool property will be added to the instructor’s policy, and a copy of the insurance certificate will be provided to the homeowner. Coverage applies to the host’s entire property while the instructor is conducting ISR lessons, not just the pool area.

• Maintain Current ISR Certification: Remain an active, Certified ISR Instructor and meet all ongoing Infant Swimming Resource certification requirements.

• Maintain CPR, AED & First Aid Certification: Maintain current CPR, AED, and First Aid certification throughout the lesson session.

• Require Liability Waivers: Ensure that each participating family completes and signs all required liability waivers prior to beginning lessons.

• Verify ISR Registration: Provide ISR lessons only to students who have completed the required National ISR registration and have been approved to participate in lessons.

Host Pool Requirements:
To be considered for our Host Pool Program, the pool and property must meet the following requirements:

• Reliable Pool Heating: Pool must have a reliable heat source, such as gas, electric, or solar, and be able to maintain a consistent water temperature of 84–88°F throughout the lesson session.

• Outdoor Pool Access: The pool area must be accessible without entering the home, such as through a side gate or other exterior access point.

• Consistent Weekday Availability: The pool must be available Monday through Thursday during the same designated lesson block each day.

• 9-Week Session Commitment: Hosts must be able to provide pool access for the full 9-week lesson session. Hosting is for one session and dates will be discussed at time of consideration.

• Pool Maintenance: Pool water must be properly maintained, with appropriate chemical levels and water quality throughout the session.

• No Indoor Home Access Required: Bathroom access is not required. Families and students will remain outside and will not need access to the interior of your home.
